CAGAYAN DE ORO (05/10/10, 8:00 pm) – With the final deadline for casting votes set at 7:00 pm today by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the local chapter of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) is currently gathering and preparing for public scrutiny the data based on election returns (ERs) printed out by the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines stationed in polling precincts all over Misamis Oriental and Camiguin.
According to Carlbyrd Cabaraban, assistant to PPCRV Chapter Chairman Fr. Nathaniel Lerio, the PCOS machines will print 8 copies of the ERs, to be followed by 22 more ER copies after the 4th of the 8 initial copies has been sent to PPCRV headquarters in Manila for internal editing.
On the other hand, the local chapter of PPCRV will be releasing tabular reports based on the 2nd of the 8 initial ER copies. Presently, volunteer technicians are preparing PowerPoint presentations which will contain details such as the number of precincts still open to voters, number of precincts closed, and precincts that have already transmitted their returns as of 7:30 pm today, in addition to statistics gathered from ER sheets.
The PowerPoint presentation described above will be displayed for the benefit of reporters who do not have ready access to the Internet, although those who do could get online may view them on the official PPCRV-ACDO blog, at http://ppcrvacdomedia.blogspot.com. The PPCRV will receive early poll results by 9:30 tonight said, Ana de Villa-Singson, Media and communications director of PPCRV. The PowerPoint presentation may be viewed by 10:00 pm at the earliest.
